La Tigra National Park and Tegucigalpa  -  3 Days

Nature, Hiking, Colonial History

Day 1 Transfer from San Pedro Sula to Tegucigalpa. The central part of Honduras is a very mountainous area. During the colonial and republican periods this region became the mining center of Honduras and the Central America colonies with its deposits of gold, silver and other precious metals. Culturally, was the center of convergence of the pre-Columbian cultures in the Maya and non Maya areas. Moreover, the main centers of population of the colonial period, Comayagua and Tegucigalpa, were and are still in this region.  Our mountain hotel is situated out of Tegucigalpa in the middle of a dense pine forest. Brief presentation of the program and leisure time to rest, walk, and breathe the fresh, pine-scented air. Overnight n the mountain hotel. 

Day 2 After breakfast transfer to the visitor's center of La Tigra National Park. La Tigra boasts everything a Honduran national park should, from an abundance of exotic animal species to refreshing waterfalls to kilometers of peaceful, well-maintained trails. Hike on park trails, over the mountain. During the hike, we have plenty of opportunity to enjoy and admire the beauty of the forest. In the afternoon we drive to Valle de Angeles, where we visit the famous National Handicraft Center. In the afternoon return to the hotel.

Day 3 Early transfer to Tegucigalpa. We enjoy our breakfast in a tropical garden restaurant, followed by a city tour of some historical sites. Transfer to the airport.

End of the program or extension of your stay with another of our itineraries.
